Ukraine proposed a tax rate on profits from cryptocurrency transactions
Ukraine has prepared draft amendments to the Tax Code concerning the taxation of operations with virtual assets (VA). The draft describes the peculiarities of taxation of operations with VA, declaration of income and tax payment procedure. According to it, the object of taxation is income received from sale of IA or their other disposition. The profits of a service provider shall be taxed at 5%, provided that the company has no income other than income related to IA activities. There is also a 5% tax for individuals and an additional 1.5% military fee. The documents have been sent to the deputies for review. The bill is scheduled to be registered next week after 50 deputies support it. About this ForkLog reported in the inter-faction association of people’s deputies Blockchain4Ukraine. We will remind, without the adoption of amendments to the Tax Code will not come into force the previously adopted law “On virtual assets”.
Binance removed the accounts of bitcoin exchange Suex
The CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), approved the inclusion of bitcoin exchange Suex on the U.S. sanctions list and shared details of his involvement in the investigation. He recalled that Binance works daily with law enforcement agencies around the world to crack down on illegal activity. “We have refined our approach to investigating potentially illegal activity with the help of AI and the creation of an internal investigative team of experienced law enforcement officers,” CZ wrote. Based on their audit, several accounts linked to Suex addresses were identified earlier this year. Pursuant to internal security measures, they were removed from the platform. Binance passed all information about the addresses and other details of the internal investigation to law enforcement agencies. Overall, CZ called the sanctions against bitcoin exchange Suex a positive development for the industry and a trajectory for its development.
Twitter allowed content creators to accept bitcoin donations
Twitter users on iOS devices were able to accept donations through the Lightning Network. To do so, they need to connect a third-party service like CashApp to their profile. According to CoinDesk, the feature will “soon” appear in Android apps. According to the company, the cryptocurrency “tip” service will be based entirely on third-party solutions such as Strike. Twitter “does not participate in the movement of funds” and does not receive revenue from payments. Different solutions will be available to users in different regions of the world. Product manager Esther Crawford said the exceptions are Bitcoin and Lightning Network – the tools can be used by people from anywhere in the world. Information that Twitter was testing bitcoin-donates appeared in early September. Even then, it was reported that it was necessary to use third-party applications to connect the new service.
