Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi suspended the registration of users from China. Such measures were taken after the publication of the statement of the People’s Bank of China, which promised to tighten the fight against illegal activities in the field of cryptocurrency trading.
Journalist Colin Wu was the first to draw attention to Huobi’s new rules:
“The pressure from Chinese regulators this time could be very high. The exchange has responded to it.”
Later, several crypto exchanges in China confirmed this information. Registrations from Hong Kong and Taiwan, however, are still available. A Huobi representative declined to comment on the news.
