AMC Entertainment, the largest cinema chain in the United States, continues to consider new cryptocurrencies to be added as a payment instrument. Initially, it was reported that by the end of the year, AMC will begin accepting bitcoin, and subsequently Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash were also added to this list. The next contender for inclusion was Dogecoin.
AMC CEO Adam Aron reached out to Twitter users to help make a decision regarding Dogecoin:
? “I see a lot of messages on Twitter that we need to accept Dogecoin as well. Do you think AMC should consider Dogecoin? “
❗️Aron accompanied his message with a vote, in which over 92 thousand people took part by the time of publication. 71.8% believe that AMC “definitely” needs to accept Dogecoin, another 8.3% agree with them, but warn that they will not use the cryptocurrency.
The absence of Dogecoin from the initial list surprised observers, as it, along with AMC shares, is among the “meme assets” that have experienced a significant increase in prices this year due to the interest of retail investors. Dogecoin, however, has justified its status as a more volatile asset and has substantially surpassed AMC in both its ups and downs.
▪️In April, DOGE rose to the fourth line in the list of the largest cryptocurrencies, but after an 80% correction in the rate it takes only tenth place.
