A court denied Ripple’s request for disclosure of cryptocurrency transactions by SEC employees.

Ripple filed a petition Aug. 27 requesting information about the purchases of bitcoin, ether and XRP by SEC employees. The regulator accuses the company of selling unregistered securities totaling more than $1.3 billion in the form of the XRP token it issued.

Ripple claims lawyers met with the SEC at least four times “without any progress,” to obtain such information. Ripple was satisfied with “anonymized documents reflecting trading decisions or the same information in general form.” The judge, however, took the regulator’s position on the matter.
